The Chateau was a white building -- luxurious, really -- with countless windows and fountains and statues in the front garden. The gravel crunched beneath your feet as the six of you moved towards the man who was draped over the seats of the car in the driveway.

"Maybe he's just sleeping?" Eugene offers pathetically.

Butchie scoffed, "Yeah. Not enough rooms."

Tappert jabbed his gun into the soldier's chest. You were all armed. Ready. You had to be, or death was promised. The man woke with a start, quickly soothed by First Lieutenant Chris before he could panic.

"Easy, Lou." He says. "Your relief is here."

"You fall asleep stargazing or something?" Butchie snorts. You and Tappert share a glance.

The soldier in the car, however, didn't answer. He scrambled out, barging past you to scurry inside. He pushed his helmet, which was much too big for him, back off of his eyes as he shouted.

"Major Gibb! Our relief is here!"

On Chris's command, the six of you trail into the chateau, weapons lowered. Beyond the gorgeous sights, you watched the previous garrisons rushing around to get out of there as soon as possible.

Weird.

"I think I've died and gone to heaven," Butchie was murmuring, as Kirk let out a low whistle.

Eugene agreed, "Man, are you kidding me? Look at this!"

"Okay," Major Gibb hurried down the staircase, "Gear up and fall in. We're out in two minutes."

Chris slowed to a stop in front of him, and Tappert inched his way round the back of the other group. You were stuck to the First Lieutenant's side like glue, weapon still drawn. Gibb's eyes flickered to the two of you, tension clear in the way he held himself.

"What's the hurry?" Chris inquires.

Gibb shook his head, breathing out an unconvincing, "No hurry."

Tappert's voice was a lot slyer. He'd been watching as the group seemed to wake up, a suspicious glint in his eyes.

"Why aren't y'all sleeping in the beds?" He asks from where he was stood. "They got bedbugs or something?"
