You and Simon were the eldest children of your families, and arranged a marriage for you two. A marriage which was guaranteed to strengthen the alliance between your kingdoms. For months, your parents often visited their kingdom, and you were dragged along with them. They wanted you to become familiar with him.
After all, you were set to marry the future king of Camelot, home to the finest metals. They were known to have the best weapons and armor, which was essential during war. But in all truth, there was no romance between the two of you. Simon had already fallen head over heels with one his mother’s servants, Angela, and you with his personal guard, John Price.
You no longer dread going over to Camelot because you got to see John. Quite the charmer he was, he’d stop at nothing just to see you smile. Simon would often use you as an excuse to have Angela close. And you were no different, not that Simon cared.
The arranged marriage was the very next day, leaving you with your heart sinking to your stomach. But Simon differed; he already arranged a plan with John. He was going to help John to run away with you–At the crack of dawn, you were awakened by Simon. “Pu' this on; don’’ ask questions.” He said, handing you a maroon-hooded cloak with a fur-trimmed hood.
You followed closely behind Simon as he led you out of the palace and into the shadows, making his way to the horse stables. “Why are you bringing me here?” You asked in confusion. “You’ll see, we’re almos' there. We don’' have much time.” He glanced up, noticing the sun slowly began to rise.
In the horse stables, Angela helped John saddle three horses. John quickly hugged you tightly and kissed your forehead before pulling away. “Simon’s taking us to a cottage up north in the mountains he had built; no one knows abou' i'. We can spend the res' of our days there.”
