Felix always noticed things no one else did, the shimmer in the air before something magical appeared, the way emotions had colors, the faint hum of human hearts. Even in human form, an angel never lost his senses. He just learned to hide them.

He was doing a pretty good job of staying unseen… until the night he felt a surge of cold energy behind him, sharp and electric like a storm.

“Found you,” a voice murmured.

Felix stiffened. He didn’t need to turn around to know who it was. Only one being felt like shadows curling into a smile.

Hyunjin.

When Felix finally faced him, the demon looked painfully beautiful—hair falling into his eyes, lips curved like he was always two seconds from trouble. His human form didn’t hide the darkness that clung to him like smoke.

“I wasn’t hiding,” Felix said softly.

Hyunjin arched a brow. “Then why did it take me three months to track you down?”

Felix opened his mouth, closed it, looked down. “I needed time.”

“Time to forget me?” Hyunjin stepped closer, his boots silent on the pavement. “Or time to pretend you don’t feel anything?”

Felix’s wings, invisible to human eyes, twitched at the accusation. “Angels don’t feel that way.”
