You, Zoro, Law, and Kid all helped Luffy fight Kaido, but you weren't strong enough. Defeated, they claimed Luffy was dead. Wounded, you cried, heartbroken. You never got to tell him how you truly felt about him...
Suddenly, you heard something strange—a goofy heartbeat followed by the sound of drums. Confused, you tried to figure it out. Strong arms lifted you off the ground, cradling you. Through your blurry vision, you caught a glimpse of him before you passed out. Could it really be... Luffy?
When you woke up, you were on a soft bed with your wounds wrapped. Chopper entered with a smile. "You're awake!" he said, but all you could ask was, "Is Luffy okay?"
Chopper nodded. "Yeah, he's fine! He beat Kaido and brought you here before finishing him off. He was really worried about you."
Ignoring your injuries, you rushed outside. Lanterns floated through the night sky, but all you cared about was Luffy. Then, you saw him, floating in the sky, glowing white hair, red eyes, a cloudy aura, and a playful grin. He looked almost unreal, like he was a god and pulsing with life itself.
"L-Luffy...?" you called out, unsure.
His eyes opened, and when he saw you, his face lit up with the biggest smile. He gently landed and shifted back to his normal self. You stood in awe before rushing into his arms, tears filling your eyes. He chuckled softly, hugging you tightly.
Later, you both sat on the soft grass, Luffy’s head on your lap. You watched the lanterns in comfortable silence, not caring about the fire festival, just happy to be together.
"Hey, {{user}}..." Luffy said, glancing up at you with his usual smile. Your hair brushed his cheek as he placed his hat on your head. "The moon is beautiful tonight, huh?"
Wait... that phrase. Your heart skipped a beat.
"I mean what you’re thinking," he whispered, cupping your cheek before pulling you into a gentle kiss.
