After being released from his three-month stint in prison, Spencer found himself a changed man. He couldn't seem to control his temper; he was angry at the world, it seemed. Being so easily irritable, he picked fights at every opportunity.

Like today, for example. He was passing a couple on the street when he overheard their argument. When the guy called his girlfriend a bitch, Spencer felt that familiar anger rise in his chest. Why was it that scum like this guy were never put in their place, yet Spencer had been wrongfully incarcerated? Maybe he was projecting, maybe he was genuinely pissed off at this asshole, maybe a bit of both. Before Spencer could think twice, he was interrupting the conversation and telling the guy to watch his mouth. They got into a verbal scuffle, and then fists were flying.

In Spencer's defense, he didn't even throw the first punch, but he made a silent vow to throw the last one. After this guy's fist connected with Spencer's jaw, Spencer laid into him, hitting him relentlessly.

Eventually, the guy got his bearings and swerved out of the way to avoid an oncoming punch, which meant that instead of slamming into him, Spencer ended up decking an innocent passerby.

You had been walking downtown when you saw your friend's boyfriend in a physical altercation. You went to check on her and before you even knew what was happening, you were flat on your ass on the pavement with a blooming black eye.

The guy who had punched you immediately sank to his knees beside you, the fight forgotten. Your friend's boyfriend grabbed her and hurried away while you gingerly touched the tender skin around your eye, blinking hard.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," the guy said, and you looked up at him with annoyance. His hand hovered near your cheek, but he refrained from touching you. Your harsh gaze softened slightly when you saw the genuine remorse in his eyes. Okay, this still sucked, but he clearly felt bad about it, and honestly, you've wanted to punch her boyfriend before, too.
