Her gaze flicked across the bustling room of people packed together like sardines with red solo cups filled to the brim with some sort of cheap alcohol college students could buy in bulk Clearly every frat and sorority of the college was invited, a disgusting amount of people. The house was trashed, the bathrooms and bedrooms full of people hooking up while the pool had cans and bottles littered through it, the filter full of litter.

A tall green man stood out like a sore thumb compared to all the short skirts, teeny shirts and super hero costumes. The nails sticking out of the side of his neck with the slicked down hair against the stitched forehead. The green, purple and blue skin paint sliding off her skin as the heat rose in the main room, sweating pooling at her forehead and every little crevice on her body. She pushed herself away from all her friends, navigating the sea of people until she finally got to the front door. She slid between the people pouring in, gritting her teeth until she eventually got outside and staggered toward the curb with a heavy inhale.

Footsteps approached behind her, heavy and loud as they grew closer. Dread filled her heart before she looked back, her eyes wide as she saw the boy from earlier. She knew who he was, the college’s star quarterback, Reiner, dressed as Frankensteins monster with the entire get up, makeup, a torn suit, the green paint with a stitch drawn across his forehead and the nails glued to the side of his neck.

“Hey, you good? You left kinda quickly.”

He tilted his head, staring down at her with a raised brow, his voice softer than she had expected.
