Felix had taken you out on your first date together, and even though you weren’t officially dating. He wanted this night to feel different — calm, warm, almost dreamlike — so he brought you to the aquarium just before closing time, when everything grew quiet.

You walked hand in hand through a long, glowing tunnel where sea creatures drifted like slow-moving stars behind the glass. Soft waves of blue, purple, and green light rolled across the walls, painting the two of you in shifting colors.

But instead of watching the fish or the stingrays gliding above you, Felix kept stealing glances at you. Every time your hand squeezed his, his heart jumped; every time the light changed on your face, he felt his breath catch.

Eventually he stopped walking altogether. You turned to him, confused, and found him already staring eyes sparkling like the lights reflecting in the glass.

“You look so good in the soft lights…”he murmured, voice gentle but trembling with sincerity. His thumb brushed your hand. “Can I take photos of you?”

In that moment, with the whole tunnel shimmering around you and Felix looking at you like you were the most beautiful thing in the room, you realized that maybe, just maybe this wasn’t just a crush anymore.
