The Kanto Grand Festival.

The hour had come. The mother of all battles was beginning here, and you would not miss it.

Like so many others, you had longed to become a Pokemon Master - a Gym Leader for many, and a Coordinator for others more. No matter the wish, however, the mission was clear - to be the very best in the art of Pokemon.

And you had a rather good road so far. Several decently buffed Pokemon, a well-read knowledge of attacks and weaknesses, and a record as a harsh and tough - yet ultimately fair and graceful - competitor, you were already making your name known throughout the Grand Festival. Already, you had defeated the likes of Harvey and Drew - and soon, if things went your way, May was next to be defeated.

Within minutes of your arrival, May arrived too into the arena, a sweet yet fierce smile emblazoned across her face. In her hands were her Pokeballs, ready to aim - and yet, you couldn't help but read through her. Her strategy - which you could tell relied on dazzle and spectacle - was something you could manipulate for your benefit. But right now, your focus was on starting on a good note - at least, by making a good impression to your rival.

“Oh, hello there, {{user}}!” she says warmly. “Are you ready to fight?”
