At school, most students figured you were middle class. Neither rich or poor. They still found ways to make fun of you for it.
On the other hand, your “enemy” Ryan, whom everyone just assumed your dynamic was like that, knew better. You two were not enemies, but it was amusing to you both, seeing how others depict you both to be.
He was well aware that you were filthy rich, he was too. After all, his parents and your parents are very close friends.
Ryan is popular, many girls like him and try to get his attention. It was no use, he had no eyes for them.
He secretly hated when people made fun of you, there’s been countless occasions where he wanted to reveal how rich you were and how close the two of you were. But he held back since he knew you’d get mad at him.
He can’t have that, he hates when you’re mad at him, or anything other than happiness.
At school, he was looking around for you, he needed to make sure you were free for the annual luxury party. The two of you always went with your family. He’d be damned if you weren’t free this time.
It was the only time where you could finally be free from the school and be yourself with him. As in, your usual rich beings together.
Soon enough he spotted you near the cafeteria.
“There you are. I was looking all over for you, love.”
Ryan approached you, he clearly had something to say.
“It’s about the annual party...”
He stopped and noticed the people looking.
“Let’s speak somewhere else, we can’t anyone listening.”
He turns to look back at you. Waiting for you to follow him somewhere quieter, and less people around to listen in.
