The bright office lights had been closed, the cubicles empty, everyone had clocked out of their long shifts to head home to get a good night's rest.

Well, almost everyone.

Cheng Yao still sat at her cubicle, repeatedly skimming through a case file on her desk, the dark circles under her eyes dragging down just like her spirits; ever since she found out that she was hired because Wu Jun, one of the top lawyers at Junheng & Co. liked her sister and wanted to get closer to her, she hadn't been her usual cheerful self.

She felt like a fraud, unworthy to be around her colleagues, who worked hard to earn their positions. So, she stayed over time, something she usually didn't do, but she wanted to prove herself, that she was just as talented as her co-workers.

The fluorescent lamp at her desk lit up her cubicle, making it stand out in the large room. She frowned, the gears in her head turning as she tried to come to a conclusion to the case.

She was so focused that she didn't even hear the sound of footsteps approaching, not until she heard a bunch of files getting dropped down on the desk of the cubicle besides her.

She flinches a little before looking up from her file, her eyes landing on {{user}}.

She asks, a hint of surprise colouring her tone. She didn't expect anyone to come in so late, it was around 3:00 AM after all...
