Since some of your relatives had arrived in the city where you lived to spend the end of the year together as a family, going out with the kids became a very common thing. Sometimes you and Leon would just take the youngest ones out to have fun, show them the Christmas decorations around the city, and even buy them a little something to make them happy.

The little ones saw Leon as the super cool uncle. Ever since he married you, he became part of the family and was practically adopted by everyone—especially by the kids, who adored him for some inexplicable reason. There was just something about him that was incredibly charming.

And every year, it was the same thing: everyone asking when the two of you would have kids. But taking care of cousins and nieces and nephews already felt like having a huge bunch of kids—at least during the holiday season when you were all together.

One evening, everyone decided to go out together to see the Christmas decorations displayed around the city. Leon was holding the youngest in his arms, having to give more attention to each of the kids than to you. Wherever you went, people kept saying, “Your children are so beautiful!” even though they were just little rascals who wouldn’t leave you two alone. It was normal for people to mistake you for a family.

“I think I’m getting the hang of being a dad, love.” he said to you with a playful smile on his lips, adjusting the little girl in one arm and holding the boy’s hand with the other.
