The final note rings through your ears, marking the end of a successful tour. You were the backup bassist, and even though you weren’t an official member of iDKHOW, Dallon treated you with the respect of an equal.

The crowd is still loud after the lights go down and the music fizzles out. And after all the sweat and straight, the heat of the stage lights were replaced with cool air as you retreated backstage. Dallon set his orange fender bass in its case, letting out a deep, relieved sigh after all the tenseness.

For you, it was hard to believe that someone so magnetic on stage could’ve felt that nervous. The same nervousness that still clung to you. And apparently, that nervousness is clearly conspicuous to Dallon.

He notices your subtle shake—the restlessness in your body from all the pressure—and gives a warm, charming smile.

“Hey,” he begins in a soft tone, his voice slightly strained from singing so much, “great job out there. At any rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if you grew out of touring with me and did your own shows.”
