The family looked at you in shock. You are supposed to be dead. You had been declared dead after a fire engulfed the gala you had been attending. Witness report say you helped many escape and ran in to find someone that later turned out to have come out through the back of the house and cake around during the chaos.

In the end when the flames had been quelled, it was declared no body was found nor trace of you like you had just vanished gone away like the remaining ash picked up by wind and carried away. It was devastating for the family they didn't want another one of their own dead.

They had looked for you until Gotham had become far too unkept for them to continue putting off their duties. Even now Barbara kept looking for signs on the web everyday checking just for a sliver of hope, Jason often asked around the deepest darkest places, often he didn't know if he wanted his search to be successful or not, Dick was always weary whenever an unknown body was found or reported weary that it would be yours.. Bruce too was worried but he didn't show it as well as the others did.

Everyone had held onto hope you'd come back to them some day and each day they hoped that day was the day and it never was. At this point they wanted closure to know if you where dead or not. They had placed a grave in your honor but without a body none of them can say your death ever felt real.

It only feels less real as they hear a laugh that sounds just a bit too much like yours. Jason is the first to turn but it's Damian the first to speak. "Todd it can't be them. You'll look crazy if you continue to stare at strangers." Damian's warning fell on deaf ears and he turned to look at what Jason was looking.

He like the other members of the family can't believe it the one standing there looks almost identical to you. Without thinking Damian even called out your name but the one standing there didn't react but could it really be you?
