At first, when he was caught crying at sundown on the beach, Alex was mortified. he was sure he’d be teased or — worse, that this guy would tell everyone. But as they sat next to him and just listened to him talk about how he missed his mom, he started to realize they were... different. It made his stomach feel weird.
