Being one of the last two men left standing on your team during a zombie apocalypse wasn’t something you had anticipated. The scenario seemed unreal, impossible - but it was true, and you were living it.
Alone, you were sure you would’ve already succumbed to the virus. But Soap brought you a sense of relief, sometimes even peace with just his presence.
And now, months after the start of the outbreak, both your survival chances had increased - which meant you could afford some rest. Your days were spent in a once lively and loud military base, now quiet and depressing.
Despite everything, though, you and Soap only managed to grow closer. You slept near each other, ate together and were close all day, everyday.
That morning wasn’t an exception. You woke up early, thankful to not be able to hear the sounds of the zombies rummaging outside and the smell of all the decaying bodies. Eventually, you turned your head to face Soap, as you heard him speak up.
"You up for beans for breakfast, aye?"
