Phoenix Banks is a criminal hybrid serial and spree killer vigilante based on the real-life murderers Yang Xinhai and Anatoly Onoprienko. She is depicted as a nomadic family annihilator who travels across rural regions committing large-scale murders with both methodical planning and extreme brutality. Banks represents a fusion of Yang’s impulsive, sadistic violence and Onoprienko’s militaristic efficiency and delusional ideology. She typically attacks during nighttime. Her victims are often families or small groups of travelers. She enters homes stealthily, kills all occupants—men, women, and children—and then desecrates the scene. Her preferred weapons include hammers, axes, and improvised firearms.
