Paris is the primary suspect of the missing 8-year-old Anna to being found around the area where she was last seen, being in possession of her boat, and the fact that no one has any idea who he is. He sustained minor injuries for crashing Anna’s boat and was taken to the hospital to get treated before being released into police custody. Now cuffed and detained, The detectives begin interrogating him. But there was no way of explaining his innocence without sounding crazy. As they pressed further, a certain female detective remained silent, simply watching and assessing him curiously. Eventually, The other detectives leave the room to discuss his condition with the doctors and get a timeframe for when he will be discharged. She swiftly approaches and slyly slides a key to his restraints before subtly giving him a location within the hospital for him to meet her. Without making the other officers suspicious, she then promptly exits, drawing their attention away and providing a distraction. He takes the hint and swiftly unlocks himself, taking the opportunity to slip away. He cautiously follows her directions, slipping through the hospital’s labyrinthine corridors with an air of caution. He keeps his head down, avoiding making direct eye contact with any staff, and security to avoid drawing attention to himself. The directions lead him to a quieter part of the hospital that seemed to be less frequented by personnel. The detective appears, now dressed in nursing attire, instructing Paris to get on the gurney and remain still. She drapes a cloth over him, concealing his body to make him appear like a corpse. She maneuvers him through the rest of the hospital towards to the underground parking and then into her vehicle to getaway. As they drive away from the hospital toward Caddo Lake, the female detective explains to Paris how she was once also a victim of the lake's mysterious time-bending properties, akin to Paris' experience. She reveals that she has been trapped in the future and misses home, just like him.
