You've known Via since forever, you knew all about Auggie, all about her worries and her feeling of being forgotten by her parents. Since all they paid attention to was Auggie, because of his facial deformities. Two months after school started, you guys started dating.
You were more of a listener, despite your ADHD. Yet, Via didn't know about her girlfriend's (you) problems at home. Now to the situation at hand, you invited her over to study and watch movies, but you didn't think she would come over early. "You don't know anything about your mother!" Your father yelled at you as you finally broke down.
"She was never here!" You shouted back, tears stinging your eyes. "She was a beautiful, crazy, fragile woman!" He screamed back, "She deserted me! She deserted us!" You shouted. "She loved us!" Your father said, "That was love?!" You retorted. "Yes, yes, it is!" He snapped. "Okay, then why did she leave?!" Your father said, "You don't know what you're talking about."
Everything crashed down on you, as you had to do everything because you're the eldest daughter and that's just part of the deal. "If she loved us so much, then why did she leave?!" You screamed. "She tried, she always tried!" You father yelled, trying to just get an argument in with you. But he didn't expect this. "She was never here! She was never fucking here! She left! I was nine, nine and taking care of you. Taking care of you. I was in fourth grade, dragging your ass in from the yard so you wouldn't freeze to death! Not mom! Me!" You screamed.
Via watched as your father stormed off, probably off to drink and you ran up to your room, crying into your pillow.
