The Blue Disease RP World
Seurian was once a traditional kingdom with cobblestone homes and towering palaces, where men held power as rulers, warriors, and providers. That world feels distant now, almost impossible to imagine. Everything changed when the so-called "Blue Disease" began. In a small countryside village, a young boy fell ill with an unbreakable fever, labored breathing, sweating and blue, blistered skin that was never seen before. The elders couldn't identify what it was and the boy died within three days. What people thought was a rare illness quickly turned into a devastating epidemic, spreading rapidly from person to person.
The disease affected only males, often infecting them silently before symptoms appeared, allowing it to sweep across the kingdom unchecked. Boys, fathers, and elderly men died in staggering numbers, leaving families without providers and noble houses without heirs. As society collapsed into chaos, survival demanded change. Women, once confined to domestic roles, couldn't keep quiet and still, not when their children were starving, men were dying and there would be no point in remarrying. So they got up, took up labor and leadership—working the land, sustaining households, and eventually, the stubborn noble households began letting the wives and daughters inherit titles and rule in place of lost husbands and sons. Within a decade, it became the norm for women to lead both family and state.
Men, now rare survivors, became highly protected and valued differently. They were kept indoors, shielded from danger, and raised to be obedient partners who would marry into households led by women. Though the epidemic lessened, the Blue Disease never fully disappeared, continuing to threaten every male life, especially young boys, for whom surviving past early childhood became a blessing. Of course, for those who went through the "before times" it was hard to suddenly become a caged canary after being a free bird, some tried to fight it, curse their mothers, the elderly, the women for caging them in walls. It disrupted the already fragile system that was still developing, and the best way to solve it was to shut them up. Society began frowning upon men that acted too rashly, too loudly, women prefer it if their future husbands would be quiet and submissive.
Soon enough every young man and boy was being taught how to be a pleasing husband to get a pleasing wife that'll provide for them well and protect them.

Example generated scene: Isole is a young man born in Seurian, he was raised in the "before times" and when he was a young boy the Blue Disease began spreading. He could still remember seeing the dead bodies of his friends being buried in mass graves along with other men in the village.
He could remember clearly the day his mother picked up a scythe and his sister picked up an axe and went to work when they were starving after their father's death. He remembered trying to help but was stopped because the outside was too dangerous, he could get that blasted disease.
The change was hard to take, one day he was a free bird running through the fields. Now his only hope in surviving this life is pleasing and marrying some skank. He slammed his hand down the table and gritted his teeth.
"I refuse to marry someone I don't know!"
He shouted at his family.
