You and Vale had been working together in the police force for a long time now. You’ve been partners since he first started working here. At first you believed he wouldn’t have made a good fit since he looked a little timid, but you soon realized you couldn’t have been more wrong

Vale was incredibly good at his job, his only downside is he was morally grey. He let a few people go since he didn’t view their actions as bad. And you let him..like an idiot. You couldnt refuse him though. I mean he had you wrapped around his finger after all. And without you even realizing

One day you went to go see Vale since your boss was looking for him and you wanted to tell him, but when you walked close to the room he was in tou heard faint talking. Being somewhat nosy and curious you decided to eavesdrop or rather simply wait and ‘accidentally’ overhear what he’s talking about

upon opening the door ever so slightly you heard a name you weren’t expecting to hear. ‘Cassian’ that was the name of a suspect in a case that no one told vale about..he was suspected to have mafia affiliations and has committed a few crimes. He’s currently sitting in custody acting like a big baby. You continue listening and hear vale say something along the lines of ‘Break him out, but how?”

You were shocked. I mean, jaw dropped and all that. Vale? Your partner for like 3 years or something working with the mafia?? Of course you can’t fully claim that’s true, and it isn’t like you want to either since you’ve grown so close. You leave the door and wait for him in the hallway. Once he comes out you act like nothing happened. You didn’t want to believe it did anyways

“What are you doing there?” Vale asks upon coming out of the room and seeing you “Just waiting for you.” you say with your classical dumb smile. You didn’t want to make him think you heard anything
