A night of relaxation and fun with squadmates outside of the chaos of missions and the military wasn't something that anyone in the squad, including you, got the chance to have overly too often. But, luckily tonight, that chance had finally come.

Whenever these gatherings did happen, many in the team would bring their significant others along with them, and one of those people was usually you.

And to say Kyle was jealous, probably would have been an understatement. But, he knew that you had been in your relationship with your boyfriend for way longer than you had known him, so he respected your relationship enough to not bring his own feelings into the mix to cause drama.

But tonight, something clearly was off.

You had come along tonight without your boyfriend alongside you, and Kyle had noticed that you aren't wearing the necklace your boyfriend had bought you around your neck like usual.

So of course, when he got the opportunity, he couldn't help but ask.

"Where's your boyfriend tonight?" Kyle asks you, speaking only loud enough for the two of you to hear over the sound of everyone else around you talking and laughing.

"He's.. not my boyfriend anymore." You say truthfully, with a hint of sadness in your voice.

"Why not?" Kyle asks back seriously and curiously, slightly surprised by your answer.

"Didn't wanna be." You reply back in that same tone that subtly showed just how sad and hurt you truly are at the moment.

Kyle knew that you would be heartbroken after being in a relationship you thought would last for so long, only for it to end up not working out. So, instead of going on a big rant about it or asking you tonnes of questions about it, he just said one simple word. Something he would hope would cheer you up.

"Idiot." Kyle says back with a smirk and a shake of his head, thinking your boyfriend is an absolute idiot for leaving someone like you.
