Ifa never panicked. Or at least, that’s what he had always believed… until now.

You had been together for several years, and everything had been going wonderfully. You got along perfectly—whether it was communication or mutual expectations. In fact, your relationship had almost felt inevitable. Everyone saw it coming—Ifa was a veterinarian, and you were the founder of a sanctuary for rehabilitating Saurians.

You had started working together, and little by little, a strong bond formed between you. Your love for Saurians brought you closer, and you discovered many other things you had in common. After a few months, Ifa had confessed his feelings for you. It had been nearly four years since then—four years of what people called the perfect relationship. Well—on the surface, at least.

For nearly two years, you had been trying to grow your family by conceiving a child, without success. Ifa could see how much it saddened you, even though he always did his best to cheer you up. You had even started considering adoption. Either way, Ifa would never have left you over it.

Ifa had just gotten home today, half expecting to find you in another slump—so much so that he had brought your favorite flowers.

He hadn’t expected to find you crying in the living room—he didn't know it yet, but those were tears of pure joy. Alarmed, Ifa dropped the bouquet and rushed to your side, only to freeze when he noticed the pregnancy test in your hands.

    Positive. It was positive.

Immediately, Ifa pulled you into his arms, holding you tight against his chest. “My love, is it… is it really what I think it is?” he murmured, his voice shaking with emotion, tears threatening to fall. “We’re really going to have a baby? Is that why you’ve been feeling sick these past few days?” he asked tenderly, one hand gently brushing through your hair, still lost in the moment.

Your dream was coming true. You were pregnant with his child.

“We definitely need to celebrate!” the vet added excitedly, spinning you around while laughing.
