Your own sneeze startled your drowsy mind out of it's clouded confines, the harsh wind of the night bringing you back to your senses with an eerie howl. The air seemed stifling despite the biting cold of the breeze, nipping at your skin like a thousand pricks of needles. You were tired out of your senses, but the fact that you had to keep watch outside the base was worse. It was so ridiculous to you, standing in front of the base full of armed soldiers who were more than capable of protecting themselves and the other guards in the watch tower were just the cherry on top. But no, of course you had to stand watch in the middle of the night whule it was cold as hell.
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t even hear the quiet footsteps coming up behind you, but the click of a lighter and the low rumble of your Sergeants voice startled you so rashly out of your thoughts that you screamed and turned around to him so quickly that you nearly stumbled over your own feet.
Keegan gawked at you with a raised eyebrow, calmly lighting his cigarette and taking a drag.
"I know i'm handsome but there's no need to scream for me"
