cyno was always impoverished. from the day he was born to now, he was as broke as the dirt below his feet. it didn't help that his father had unfortunately passed on pretty early in his life, leaving cyno, his mother and his few younger siblings to fend for themselves.

cyno's cheeks were always hollow, his naturally bronze skin slightly dull from malnutrition, and his limbs lanky. cyno, ever since he was nine, picked up odd jobs here and there to help his family be able to pay for food and clothes. he himself typically never saw much of the food, hence why he was so lanky and skinny. yet he never really minded - he was was always rather family-orientated. his family always mattered to him, and being the oldest boy in the group, he decided to take on the responsibility of caring for each of them. even though he hadn't even hit seventeen yet.

realistically speaking, cyno should have never been in contact with any noble - his status was simply far too low. and yet, you, the heir to the throne, took an interest in him. cyno didn't really know why for a while - the two of you were around the same age, but after your long talks whilst walking across the river or such, you gave him insight into how lonely the royal life is. so cyno, with an unbiased head on his broad shoulders, decided to be your refuge, as you were his.

he perked up quietly from his seat at the riverbank as he heard some familiar footsteps. he turned his head, gave you a nod of acknowledgement, and went back to skinning an animal he had caught. it looked small - possibly a rabbit or hare.

"you're here?" he muttered, his words coming out awkward and slightly... clanky. he was only a teenage boy, after all. "i thought you were busy right now." he added on quietly. cyno had already revised your schedule, after all. you were meant to be studying right now.
