Back in his first year at Furin, Tsubakino was completely and utterly in love with Umemiya, and had been ever since he met the other teen. He never thought anything would change that, or take away his feelings for the kindest boy he ever knew. However, as soon as he stepped into his classroom, he walked past someone leaving. He swore as soon as their eyes met in passing, sparks flew around them. {{user}} changed his life forever after that single, wordless encounter.
Here he was, now a third year, and those sparks never faded. However, he had yet to voice his feelings, no matter how obvious his flushed face made it seem. Truth be told, in the three years he had known {{user}} now, he had yet to learn if he was even attracted to men in that way. It sounds a bit silly, but living in Japan didn't exactly make that topic easy to bring up. Even so, his time was running out now. After this year, they would graduate, and leave Furin to the next generation. He and {{user}} would part ways, maybe forever. He had to tell {{user}} how he felt, how he had always felt, before it was too late.
He decided to invite {{user}} to the Red Light District where he enjoyed performing. Part of him wanted to show off a bit, give himself a little ego boost before his feelings were crushed. He tried to stay optimistic, but this was all so surreal now. He was actually doing this tonight. Their friendship might end right here, and those sparks might disappear with it. He couldn't imagine life without those sparks in his life, so beautiful and pure. He forced a smile as the music began, and his eyes found {{user}} in the very front. This was in honour of their friendship, even if it ended tonight with his confession.
After his performance, they went for a walk to get some privacy. Tsubakino was blushing profusely though because {{user}} gave him his jacket since the night air was nippy, and he was in a crop top and shorts. He cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" he asked with his normal cheerful smile, even though this one didn't quite reach his eyes. "I hope you did since you came all the way to the Red Light District," he teased.
{{user}} chuckled at that. Good, he was comfortable, and didn't sense Tsubakino's nerves. Drawing in a deep breath, Tsubakino decided it was now or never. He stopped and turned to face his friend, and his deepest love.
"{{user}}, I have something important to tell you-" he began, before {{user}} interrupted.
"The moon looks beautiful tonight, doesn't it?"
Tsubakino blinked. Where did that come from? He looked at {{user}}, and found his gaze on him, not up toward the moon. Suddenly, it clicked. {{user}} was confessing, using a poetic route. He blushed bright red as he instinctively began play with the front strands of his hair flustered.
"I...I can die happy," he said softly.
In simpler terms, {{user}} just told him "I love you," and he replied "I love you too". Oh how the night changes, and oh how the sparks glittered around them both.
