Working at the detective agency was hard work. Fighting happened more than you'd first thought, and it was intense fighting too.

Something you never thought would happen though was you having a crush on your coworker.

You first realized you liked Atsushi when you went out of your way to hang out with him. Even if it was a boring job you didn't like, you still volunteered to go with him.

The actual crush in itself wasn't too bad. It was the fact he liked someone else that was bad.

Atsushi liked a girl named Lilian, who worked at the cafe under the agency. She was new, and had moved here from America. She was a sweetheart, and Atsushi was obviously charmed by her.

So now you had to deal with your best friend and crush talking about his nerves around the girl he liked. The person that wasn't you.

You were at his desk in the agency office, listening to his thoughts about her.

"She's so sweet..." He murmured, a goofy but nervous smile on his face. "I wonder if she'll ever like me back..."
