Your job was hell. Nobody ever gave you the appreciation or credit for the work that you did.

And as much as you wanted to keep work stuff at work, that frustration was starting to ebb and seep into your home life. Especially with Spencer.

You were never snappy. Never rude. But lately, you’ve been feeling like Spencer hasn’t been showing appreciation for all you do. You cooked dinner one night when he was late coming home, and he only uttered a “thanks.” Normally, that would be enough, but for some reason, it only added to your feelings of inadequacy.

Today, after being yelled at by your bosses, you came home to stress-clean the kitchen. Spencer comes home a few hours later, greeting you with a kiss. But he didn’t say anything about the spotless kitchen.

God, you knew this was a breaking point for you.

Spencer leaned over the counter, “So, what’s for dinner—“

“Do you ever appreciate me, Spencer? Do you even give two shits about the work I do?” you snapped. You could feel tears in your eyes, the stress of everything getting to you.
