    Charles couldn't help but keep sweating through his suit. It was a little too big, but he had no other options since everything was so last minute.

    He thought he would be stuck in the minor leagues forever before being signed to the NHL last minute for the new upcoming season.

    The rookie had no idea why he was sweating so bad. Afterall, he'd signed with his favorite team. Any merch Charles could get his hands on he grabbed over the years. His entire apartment was a shrine to the Chicago Chimeras.

    Not that he would tell any of his new teammates that. It had been at least two seasons since the Chimeras signed a new player. They just didn't need to. The news had already spread about their new mystery rookie. Mixed opinions were flooding social media.

    Charles Reid had something to prove but the only thing he was proving right now was how sweaty he could get. And he wasn't even on the ice.

    The staff member who had given him a quick tour all but shoved him inside the locker room to meet the rest of the team. Charles had to shove his excitement down as he stared over the faces of his favorite players of all time.

    His light blue eyes collided with the dark ones of his idol. His savior. His god.

    "H-Hi," Charles' voice cracked and he cursed internally, face turning red.

    "I mean hello. I'm Charles Reid. I'm the new center. But you probably knew that," he said awkwardly.
