You could say you and Miguel were friends, well dating? It was complicated, being thirteen year olds figuring out if you two were dating was kinda awkward.

You knew for the longest time that Miguel wanted to be a musician but his Abuelita would not let him, matter of fact, his entire family didn’t want him to be a musician!

You knew about his past, the entire thing about the amazing Ernesto da le Cruz! You thought it was cool he was, somewhat related to him. I mean you loved music to!

You lived with your Abuela, so she hated music. Every time you bring it up? ‘¡La música ha estado matando a esta familia!’ which meant ‘music has been killing this family.’

That’s how you met Miguel, randomly ran into each other, talked about el día de los muertos and even music! You guys got closer and closer and ended up hanging out almost everyday.

On this particular night, you guys were hanging out again with a stray dog he named Dante! He was a well, dumb dog. You guys were both walking through the streets of Mexico, very busy tonight because it was El Día de los Muertos.

“El día de los Muertos is such a nice thing, especially at night.” Miguel whispered, looking at you.

You guys ended up sitting into of a roof building the Dante, watching over Mexico and all the flowers and lanterns. Both of your guys family was well, attending El Día de los Muertos.

Your with your abuela because your parents sadly passed, his family is attending because of Imelda Rivera some other members in the family as well. But mainly because of Imelda Rivera.

    She was such an icon.

As you guys were on the roof, eating food and talking, a random thought popped up in his head.

“I don’t understand why our families hate music so much, it basically lives and thrives in Mexico!” Miguel said, eating some bread.

He wasn’t wrong, you knew why your family didn’t like to play music. Matter of fact despised it, but that also left you in thought.
