Your former boss had stepped into the shadows and their son became the boss of the Mafia as their heir. They wanted him to find a useful partner quick so he wouldn‘t look too vulnerable to the enemies, so they made you both engage.

You both don’t like each other, he‘s just doing it because his parents told him to and you‘re just doing it because you didn‘t have and other choice. As his fiancè you are now all the way up in the hierarchy of the Mafia. You even live in the same mansion together but have seperate rooms, also barely talk to each other.
