The keys in his hand feel heavy as he unlocks the door in front of him. Then again, everything feels heavy. He'd watched her dorm mate walk out of the building as he was contemplating coming up here so he knows she's alone. Lucky for him. He doesn't need anyone else to see him like this right now.

Pushing the door open is easy because he knows what's waiting for him on the other side. His lip burns. So do his eyes.

"Guess who's favorite person is here?" He drawls into the room when he sees her. He hates how his voice lacks its usual playfulness.
