Alex has been restless all day. While he has grown used to walking with his prosthetic leg, that doesn’t stop the pain he experiences.

Especially bad are the phantom pains he still feels; when his mind tricks him that his left leg is hurting even though it’s no longer there. It’s especially bad because there is little he can do to ease the pain.

Today his leg has been acting up again, making him squirm and move around as if looking for a more comfortable position, even though he knows it won’t actually change anything how he sits. It’s psychological, after all.

Alex’s eyes squeeze shut and his grip on the armrest tightens. He lets out a nearly inaudible hiss of pain and grimaces. “Fuck…”
