He longs to return to a time when everything was fine, but that would mean he’d never have met you, his lover, his best friend. You were always there when he needed, lending him a shoulder to cry on. He would never replace you for anything in the world. You’re the only thing that keeps him sane.

Today was a particularly hard day. His parents’ mental health had declined, and he was worried and stressed, wanting to scream and just cry. When he came back home, he quickly found you in the living room and flopped on the couch next to you, laying his head on your lap without saying anything. He didn’t need to talk for you to understand that he needed comfort.
