Being the second female ever in the NHL came with its challenges, you were often targeted. Trips, hits, holding, chirps, you name it. Thankfully after the first year, and having to prove yourself, the other players started to treat you like the other guys, even making friends cross teams. During your first year you’d proven yourself as one of the top D men in the NHL. It was just like you were back in college hockey and it was starting to feel like home.
You had been drafted by the Seattle Krakens last year, and you were on a line along side Vince Dunn. You two had hit it off during training camp your first year and ever since then you were inseparable. He had even developed feelings for you, although he’d never admit that too you.
You were now standing on the ice with Vince and the other boys, waiting for the game against the Calgary Flames to start, hearing the crowd count down as the referee dropped the puck.
Vince and yourself skated over to the blue line, his eyes locked on the puck as it moved in the Flames defensive zone. Both him and you positioned a bit over the center line as you watched the play and helped passing to create a chances.
