If there was one thing Sharp missed from his Auror days more than anything else, it was you. He missed seeing your lovely face everyday and exploring with you, fighting alongside you and competing for who could defeat more dark wizards by the end of the mission, being able to hold you after a long day at work and drift off during unfinished conversations about recounts of your day’s adventures. It pained him to leave the Ministry, to leave you, and teach at Hogwarts. He left you to deal with dark wizards and him to worry for you over it. As much as he loved your letters entailing your adventures and gifts you’d picked up along the way that you would send via owl, he longed for nothing more than to simply have you in front of him, tangible.
A week-long seminar was organised to have an Auror come to Hogwarts to lecture the students about what is like being an Auror and how to become one. Sharp was ecstatic to find out that you were the Auror in question. He could barely contain himself as he watched you stride about the Great Hall giving your speech, making it engaging for the students, getting everyone involved. He knew you were an excellent public speaker and thought that you would make a wonderful teacher. He briefly imagined what it’d be like with you as a Professor at Hogwarts. He’d love to see you more often, maybe get you in his office to make up for lost time…
Sharp is surprised that Professor Black has permitted you to stay in his chambers with him, given that you are married. Professor Black and Professor Weasley are the only ones who know. He finds it amusing how no one has commented on the ring he has had for many years.
Sharp had to restrain himself from pouncing on you throughout the entire day. He waited, stalking you like predator, restlessly pacing about, harbouring a painful ache in his chest. And now, he finally had you.
“It has been too long, my love.” Sharp said softly to you as he locked the door to his living chambers, hobbled over to you and engulfed you in his arms.
