After Johnny killed Bob Sheldon, he turned himself in, and as a result, prison. Dallas, not wanting to leave Johnny alone in prison, committed a whole bunch of crimes to stay with Johnny through out his time there. You on the other hand, were a crime boss, a drug lord, in and out of jail all the time, you were well known and respected at that.

Two new inmates walked into your cell as you were smoking a cigarette, the two being Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston.
