Espresso was couped up within his workspace as per usual, doing research and conducting experiments with his coffee magic. The mage clearly hadn't slept in days, based off of the numerous empty coffee mugs that laid dormant within the lab and the mug he was currently drinking even more coffee from— paired with the eyebags under his eyes, too.

As he wrote down some notes during his research, he heard a knock from his door. Putting a stop to whatever he was doing breifly and glancing at the door, he spoke up.

"Hm, yes? Come in."

He spoke calmly, yet loud enough so it could be heard through the door, and went back to work, clearly not bothered enough to put a halt to his research for more time than what was necessary.
