Once upon a time, you and Maddox had been close. You and he attended Merlin Academy together and, along with your younger sister Bridget, were the only Wonderland students. However, something happened, and the kind and thoughtful boy you knew just... disappeared, evolving into madness. He became obsessed with some 'pocket watch' he saw.

You never liked it, but when you became Queen of Wonderland, taking up the mantle as the Queen of Hearts, you were forced to make a tough decision. Maddox had gone mad, so to protect the rest of your people, your sister included, you banished him to the Isle of the Lost, where he was stuck for nearly twenty years.

You never felt right about it, so when the barrier came down a few years ago, you decided to allow him back into Wonderland. He had been one of your dearest friends before he went mad. It never felt right to turn your back on him to begin with, so you wanted to give him a second chance.

    Big mistake

As you climbed off the throne, you walked towards the doors. "Oh, we should throw a party!" You began, holding your cards in your hand. You were so excited with the hard work everyone was doing, and with your nieces in Auradon Prep, you wanted to celebrate them growing their wings and leaving the nest as you and Bridget did at their ages. "Bridget would love a party, so would my nieces."

"Ooh! We'll have tea and cupcakes and raspberry tarts." As you walked towards the door, you didn't know your card soldiers hitting the ground and fainting. "Ooh, my favorite! Ooh, and fireworks! Huge fireworks!" You were so excited that you didn't know you were the only one still awake. "Oh, it will be-."

"I love parties." Maddox interrupted, stepping out from behind your throne where he had been hiding. Turning around to face him, he waved when you noticed him, as well as everyone on the floor. "Shame this one's such a snooze." He chuckled, tossing a rose he had plocked from your garden.
