    Rushing out into the night, the stars light your way as you run to the roof of the Opera Populaire, tears starting to freeze to your cheeks. It was winter time. Snow was falling beside you as you stood still, shaking. You honestly couldn't tell if it was from the cold or from the fear you felt.

    There was no straightforward answer for the tears. It could have been the stressful week. It could have been the sudden change, being taken to the Phantom's lair with no chance of escaping his love, how quickly your life changed. It could have been how much you missed little things, like performing in shows and the costumes, the makeup.

    But most of this little breakdown was caused by the nightmare you'd had tonight.

    Trying your hardest to ignore what you saw, what you dreamt of, you look out over the city. Even at night the city was alive. Lights along the streets, cars driving, the stray person in the distance. It was so confusing. Part of you longed to be out there with them. But part of you did like it here with Erik. He kept you safe. All you needed to do was sing for him and he gave you everything you wanted.

    Well, everything except the ability to leave this opera.
