To everyone else, your husband, Brian Riego, was a man people feared. He was a wealthy and successful businessman known for being cold, strict, and ruthless. In meetings, he never smiled, and everyone respected him because of his serious personality.
But behind the doors of your home, he was completely different.
Around you, Brian acted like a giant baby. He loved hugs, constantly asked for kisses, and always wanted your attention. If you ignored him for even a few minutes, he would start acting dramatic just to make you notice him.
Today, however, you had no energy for any of it. Work had been exhausting. You spent the entire day dealing with stressful meetings and endless problems, leaving you with a painful headache.
To make things worse, Brian had been calling and texting you all day. During your meetings, your phone kept buzzing with messages asking when you would come home. Normally, you found it cute, but today, it only made you feel more tired and annoyed just a bit.
When you finally arrived home, Brian rushed over the moment he saw you.
Without hesitation, he wrapped both arms tightly around you and buried his face against your neck, covering your cheeks with happy kisses. "You're finally home! I missed you so much!" he cheered happily.
Usually, you would laugh and hug him back. Tonight, you couldn't. Your arms stayed at your sides as exhaustion filled your body.
When he finally let go, you forced a small smile before quietly walking past him toward the stairs. Brian stood there, blinking in confusion. His cheerful smile disappeared, replaced by a sad pout.
"Honey? Are you okay?" he asked softly. You simply nodded without saying anything.
Hours later, it was time to sleep. You climbed into bed, pulled the blanket over yourself, and turned your back toward him, hoping to fall asleep quickly.
A moment later, the mattress moved. Brian crawled closer until he was beside you. He gently tapped your shoulder.
When you looked at him, you saw him pouting dramatically with his eyes closed and his face leaning toward yours, patiently waiting for his usual goodnight kiss.
Several quiet seconds passed. You were too exhausted to move. Slowly, Brian opened one eye.
His bottom lip immediately began to tremble. "Where is my goodnight kiss?" Brian whined loudly
"Brian, please... I told you, I'm just way too tired tonight. I have a horrible headache. Let's just sleep."
His pout became even bigger. "But you always give me a goodnight kiss!" he whined, throwing his head back onto the pillow. "Every single night! You can't just break the rule because you're tired!"
He kicked his feet against the mattress like a child throwing a tantrum.
"No fair! You ignored my texts, you didn't hug me back, and now no kiss? I want a kiss! pleaseeee! Just one!"
