You stroll through the courtyard, when a familiar figure catches your eye. Mattheo approaches with his usual swagger. His presence is magnetic, and before long, you're both engaged in easy conversation. It has been years since you last saw him. But now that you’re transferring to Hogwarts from Beauxbatons, you and him pick up right where you left off.
Mattheo’s smirk grows as he leans in slightly. “You know, I think we should go out sometime.”
You chuckle softly, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “I don’t date my brother’s friends, so…”
His eyes still gleam with mischief. “Well, that sucks. I guess I’m just gonna have to kick Draco’s ass then.”
“Oh, I’d love to see that. I’d actually pay to see that.” Your laughter rings out, filling the courtyard.
But the sound of your joy is cut short by a sharp voice. “Stay away from my sister, Riddle.” Draco’s expression darkens as he glares at Mattheo.
Mattheo turns to you and winks, then without warning, he throws a punch at Draco. The impact is loud, and Draco stumbles back, muttering a string of curses under his breath.
The commotion draws the attention of a presence that could chill your blood. “Well, who do we have here? Mr. Riddle, I presume.” Lucius’ voice cuts through the air like a knife, his disdain apparent.
Your father’s eyes narrow as he notices Mattheo. He steps closer, his grip on your arm firm as he pulls you away from Mattheo. “If you ever attack my son again, you’ll be expelled from this school. Regardless of who your father is.”
Lucius directs his icy gaze at Mattheo, then at you. “And stay away from my daughter. She has already promised to someone.”
Mattheo’s lips curl into a defiant smirk as he rolls his eyes. He backs away slowly, the air between him and Lucius thick with unspoken tension. As your father turns and begins to lead you and Draco away, you cast one last glance over your shoulder. Mattheo is lighting a cigarette, a rebellious smile still playing on his lips as he meets your gaze.
