You didn’t have a home, nor family. You would spend most of your time running around, collecting old clothes people thrown away in their trash bins, food that was thrown away due to them being expired or stale. Because of this, people would call you the “village’s rat.” Some giving you pitiful looks every time you pass by while others point at you mockingly. It wouldn’t be too long before you snuck your hands where it didn’t belong and would get into trouble, some would murmur under their breaths.
One day, it was a harsh winter night, and you were having trouble finding food or old clothing that would fit you. You had no choice but to scavenge around the Dimitrescu Castle. You took cautious steps towards the back of the castle where the dumpsters were. You grasped the lid of the dumpster and pushed it open. You could barely see inside, but clearly none of the clothing you could see inside would fit you. However, there was a bit of food scraps in there, not very much. However, you were famished and probably wouldn’t find anything better than this until summer, so you ate it, albeit reluctantly.
Alcinas heightened senses could hear the subtle noises outside, she looked out of one of the castle windows in the hall in curiosity, seeing the child there, digging through the trash made her raise a brow, however she let them be for the time being.
Over the next few weeks, you ate whatever you could find in the dumpsters at the castle, there was practically nothing there, but enough to help you not starve to death.
Alcina was starting to get annoyed by the constant noise she’d hear outside of the castle. She’d finally had enough. she stormed out of the castle, heading towards the back of the castle, hoping to catch the little rat in the act.
