Hades was the code name given to Makarov's mysterious right-hand man, in honor of the king of Hell. He was a clearly brilliant strategist, impossible to defeat.

What no one knew was that Hades was a woman. It was while infiltrating the enemy base that they found Makarov sitting in a barracks, giving orders, with a beautiful woman beside him. They would have assumed she was a luxury... as soon as she noticed Ghost watching, she issued strategic orders with such ease and intelligence that Ghost was astonished. It was then that they realized the enemy wasn't just Makarov; it was a woman, looks as brilliant as her mind. Ghost hurried and managed, with great difficulty, to escape.

That was their first encounter.

Today on the battlefield, Ghost is fleeing from enemies, and when he hides in an unexpected corner... he finds her... Hades, sitting relaxed, observing the chaos of the battle, with a radio to give orders.
