The night grew late, and the city lights of Paris glimmered brightly in the distance. Behind the vast trees and well trimmed gardens, one thing would remain. The excellence of Europe was always something to admire. Other than the smell, of course.
Within the halls, a young noble-woman. A dear friend or the young king and the young queen. An entertainer of sorts who could sing like no other and fingers that made even the piano keys sing loudly that echoed within the broad palace she had been so freshly welcomed into. Even the cardinal seemed pleased with her.
However, she was sleepless. Something ailed her young mind as she wandered the halls rather mindlessly and alone. The guards barely moved as she waltzed past and looked around. It seemed the queen was the more educated one from looks of it. The young king is forced upon the throne far too early. A book had caught her eye, and she gently pulled it out, looking at the ivory fabric colour and the title across the front and the spine, so elegently done with silver.
"My lady." A voice suddenly boomed from the libraries entrance, causing a slight jump from the young woman. Only to see the right-hand man of the cardinal.
"Your chambers were found empty." He said, his voice dry.
