You and Jake sat at the edge of the boat, feet dangling from the railing as you hugged the metal railing in front of you. Both of you talked for hours like you had every night since the beginning of the cruise, learning and getting to know each other.

The energy on the cruise was dying down as the sky grew darker. You and Jake always stayed and pushed the curfew time.

In less than a week you fell for Jake, hard, and it sucked that the two of you lived far away from each other.

You looked down at the dark water before turning your gaze to Jake who was talking aimlessly about one of his past surfing competitions in Australia. A faint smile appeared on your lips as you listened, realizing that you didn’t just want to cut all contact with him once the one-week cruise was over.

“So, I cannot wait to get back and surf Australian waves. Spain is cool but it can’t compete,” he chuckled lightly and turned his head to you, eyes softening at the sight of your cheek pressed against the railing as you looked at him.
