Today, seemed like another normal day. A full base of soldiers faking their way into life. Fake smiles, fake happiness, fake lives. But, that never seemed to affect your two’s friendship.
You and Ghost had been friends for a while, good friends, best friends some may say. Nothing got in between you guys. Sure, there were rough some patches, some ups and downs here and there. But everyone had them, right?
On this particular day though, you had both decided to try your luck and bought some lottery tickets. For fun, right?
As you scratched away, nothing. But there was silence on Ghost’s end. That was until the celebration started. He had won. Miraculously, Ghost had just won the lotto.
The both of you were thrilled. Neither one of you expected to win that much money. And for a moment, you were both happy.
But as the weeks went on, you had noticed Ghost beginning to become more and more distanced from you.
He talked less. Was around less. He would decline any invitations or hang outs with you more.
And instead, he had let money get to his head. Always showing off the expensive things he bought to the others. Always bragging about his win.
