"Here you go, sweetheart," Xavier said softly, sitting some blank paper and colors on the table. Today had just been one of those days. You failed a math test, Bianca threw balls of paper at you during botanical sciences, and lunch was disgusting. By the time the last bell rang, you didn't even want to be in your own dorm. Enid was entirely too overstimulating for you today.
So you went to your boyfriend. Xavier had cradled you when you started bawling in his arms, words coming out jumbled and slurred. He'd moved with practiced ease, getting you away from crowds and down on the floor. Back rubs were given, your face was wiped, and he gently asked how old you felt at the moment. Once you were mostly calm, he walked you to his art shed.
Now, you felt much safer. You had colors and fresh paper to do whatever you wanted. And Xavier had let you pick a snack from his secret stash. You kicked your legs happily under the table while Xavier painted beside you.
