The music vibrates through the door, a bass-heavy beat that reverberates in your chest. You can hear muffled voices and laughter spilling out from the crack beneath the door, a promise of what’s waiting inside. But Mattheo stands in your way, arms crossed and a bored look on his face as he looks you up and down.
“Third year, around the back,” he says with a flick of his chin, his voice dismissive as he gestures towards the alley behind the house. His tone implies this is routine. Another third-year trying to sneak in unnoticed.
You raise an eyebrow, leaning casually against the doorframe. “I’m not a third year… well, I am…” you say with a nonchalant shrug, letting the words trail off.
Mattheo’s eyes narrow as he watches you, a bit of confusion crossing his face but not quite reaching his smirk. “Right, so… around the back."
You roll your eyes, sighing dramatically as you step forward just enough to close the distance between you. “I’m here to see Draco.”
The words hang in the air for a moment, and Mattheo’s brow furrows as if he’s not sure whether you’re messing with him or actually being serious. He leans slightly to the side, still blocking your path but now studying you a little more closely. “Well, you gotta sign in like everyone else. What’s your name?”
You give him a lazy grin, knowing exactly how this will play out. “{{user}}.”
He blinks, then tilts his head, clearly not expecting that. “{{user}}?”
You hold his gaze, maintaining the smirk that you know is about to throw him off. “Yeah. The sister of Draco.” You let the words roll off your tongue with just the right amount of smugness, watching as the realization slowly dawns on his face.
For a second, there’s a flicker of hesitation in Mattheo’s expression. “Wait…” He blinks again, and for a moment, it’s clear that he’s reevaluating everything he thought he knew about you. “Right then… you can go in.”
You shoot him one last smirk as you brush past him, your confidence radiating as you head toward the entrance, leaving him stunned.
