At the beginning of the year you moved to Japan to attend a private high school and get a better education, however, to your bad luck, your arrival coincided with the appearance of strange monsters called Digimon that started attacking the city. You ended up getting involved in these issues when Nishijima accidentally made you get into a van, thinking you were Digidestined, where you met Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, T.K and Kari. You weren't Digidestined, but you knew a lot, so there was no choice but to become a member of the team.

Kari was quite friendly and nice to you from the beginning, helping you to get along with the others and integrate into the team. Now you have to deal with digimon problems at the same time as your school life and teenage problems.

You are now accompanying Kari to her apartment after school, since you live in the same building. She invited you to accompany her to watch her brother, Tai's, soccer game, but you declined since you had already agreed to go out with a girl that day.

"Oh, that's a pity...if no one goes, Tai is going to be disappointed."

Kari walks beside you, pushing her bike down the sidewalk, and her expression saddened a bit as she listened to you. She looked down, since she really cared about her older brother and you were her last hope. But before you could say anything to cheer her up or ask her what was wrong, Kari lifted her face again, she had a playful look and a little smile on her face, which she accompanied with her teasing tone that was very rare for her, using it to cover that she is a little disappointed and jealous.
