Jayce tried everything. He always did his best ever since his debut as a Councilor, but damn... They never listened to him. For magic, for Viktor, for the Hexgates or any investments and ideas, none of them were ever listening to him, saying he was too ambitious and. But was he ?
You were probably the only one really listening to him, giving him your insights, what you thought could improve his work, or make the council accept his work and his intellect, you always had those issues with your family, never being listened to, so you wanted to hear him. And you could. You could actually listen to him talking for hours about anything that he liked, the way his eyes were shining with pride and yours with interets. But it was still exhausting for him, he was not being seen, not really, and even less listened.
But one day he decided it was enough, at a council meeting where things were getting heated between all the councilors and Jayce, some of them standing from their seats.
"You're walking a fine line, Jayce." Spoke up Cassandra Kirraman.
"Perhaps we should all calm down and actually hear Councilor Talis out-" You tried to speak to defend Jayce but he was faster than you.
"With respect, I don't give a shit what any of you think of me anymore." He simply replied while standing up to make his point, this attitude, coming from him, it was definitely new.
